 The Tamron Lens AF 70-300mm is a great value digital lens .

The build quality of this member of the Tamron lenses family is excellent. This lens has a metal mount and feels quite strong like a Tamron should.  Autofocusing is a little slow, does make some noise, and can hunt a little, although this Tamron can track rapid sport action.

 The lens is quite sharp even on photos taken with the aperture wide open and at the longest focal length

The macro addition is a great added bonus especially for those who are trying to incorporate a lot into a single lens for budget purposes.


It is however difficult for a lens to do everything perfectly so a slight drop in picture quality around the edges is acceptable.

You will see some chromatic aberration and the F4 aperture has its drawbacks.
